The Kansas City Renaissance Festival is having its 47th season in Bonner Springs, Kan.

Again this year, The Landmark is teaming up with the Renaissance Festival on a special offer for Landmark readers. Take out a new Landmark subscription–or renew your current subscription–for $35 for one year and you’ll receive two tickets to the 2023 Kansas City Renaissance Festival.

The two tickets themselves are a $50 value.

Tickets can be picked up at The Landmark office or a mailing option is available for an additional $5 fee.

To take advantage of the offer, call the newspaper at 816-858-0363.

The KC Ren Fest invites the public to come experience the magic and visit with mermaids, vikings, fairies and more. Zip around on the zipline, play a new game and see birds of prey. Visit the House of Dragon Pub, throw axes, then drink like a pirate at the rum and mead tastings.

Settle down for a lunch of turkey legs and try one of the signature cocktails. Get your hair braided, a henna tattoo or find unique hand-crafted gifts at over 150 shops.

Explore life during the Renaissance with the Living History Quest and children can even be knighted as one of the many kid friendly activities in the Children’s Realm. There are 22 stages of exciting entertainment, including Full Contact Live Armored Jousting and Human Chess Match.

This year there are seven themed weekends of fun.

Sept. 2-4: Swashbucklers and Sirens
Sept. 9-10: Highland Fling
Sept. 16-17: Wine, Chocolate and Romance
Sept. 23-24: Shamrocks and Shenanigans
Sept. 30 and Oct. 1: Heroes and Villains
Oct: 7-9: Barkbarian Brew Fest
Oct. 9: Lords and Ladies Shopping Day
Oct. 14-15: Haunted Huzzah

The Harvesters Food bank will be out front the first three weekends taking donations and anyone donating five canned goods receives a free BOGO admission ticket that day.

Sept. 9-10, all military and first responders receive a free BOGO ticket with their work ID. Honor roll students receive a free ticket. Just bring your report card to the box office any festival day.

Festival days and hours are Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 2 through Oct. 15, plus Monday, Sept. 4 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 9 10 a.m. to 5 p.m . Rain or Shine

King’s Gate entrance is located at 633 N. 130th St Bonner Spring, Kansas 66012.
