Mr. and Mrs. Dale Totten of Kansas City have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Malissa Dawn, to Douglas Haden Van Dyke, Platte City. Malissa is a 1990 graduate of Platte County R-3 High School and is currently employed by Park College in Parkville, where she is working toward a degree in marketing. Doug graduated from Platte County R-3 in 1989 and will graduate from Central Missouri State University in May with a degree in accounting. The couple plans a July 24 wedding at the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the campus of Park College, Parkville.

Craig Robinson, currently employed as the drivers education instructor at Platte County R-3, has been promoted. Robinson will become the new assistant principal at the high school. The position was vacated when Binny Pearce was moved to principal after the resignation of Greg Frost, current principal. Robinson received his bachelor of science degree in education from Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph. He is currently working toward his master’s at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryvillle. He plans to complete his master’s this summer.
