After six years on the job, Anna Nutt is stepping down as head girls basketball coach at Platte County R-3 High School. Nutt turned in her resignation last week, citing a “combination of things” as her reasoning. She had informed her team a couple of weeks ago of her decision to resign. “I have burnout big time,” she said Monday. “I can’t see myself being a head varsity coach anywhere ever again.” Nutt’s program at R-3 had fallen on hard times the past few years. In the season that came to a close with a loss at districts last week, the Lady Pirates finished with a 6-18 record.
