Piles of rock have been placed on either end of the Humphrey’s Access bridge south of Platte City to close it. Area landowners want it repaired and reopened but county and state engineers warn it would still be risky to cross it. Repairs are estimated at $12,000 to $15,000 but a new bridge would cost an estimated $700,000.
