The engagement of Michelle Lee Capps, Kansas City, to Darren Wayne Baker, Kansas City, has been announced. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lee and Rhonda Capps and is a 1988 graduate of Platte County High School And William Jewell College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Her fiancé, son of Virginia Baker and the late Lyle W. Baker, is a 1987 graduate of Oak Park High School and William Jewell College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, The couple planned to be married on Aug. 8 at Linden Baptist Church, Kansas City.


North Platte R-1 School District has a new principal for the high school in Dearborn. He is John Ronald Green of Boonville, currently principal at Moniteau C-1 School in Jamestown, Mo. He will start his new job Aug. 10. Green, 45, is married with two children. He is a 1964 graduate of Antioch High School in Nashville, Tenn. His college studies include at Middle Tennessee State University and at Adams State College.

A son, Patrick Keegan, was born to Pat and Renee McKernan, Camden Point, on Thursday, June 18, 1992 at Heartland West Hospital in St. Joseph. He weighed seven pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Fred and Louella Lewis of Wathena, Kan. Paternal grandparents are Jerry and Nancy McKernan of Peculiar, Mo.
