Rev. Eugene McFarland read the marriage vows at the Barry Church June 11 for Miss Vickie Edmonds and Wayne Moore. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Elders, 108th St., Kansas City, North. A reception was held following the ceremony.


Mr. and Mrs. Dale E. Poos, Rt. 2, Platte City, announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Peggy Annette, to Robert Terrance Humes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Humes of Weston. The wedding has been set for July 15 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farley. A reception will follow. All friends and relatives are invited to attend the 7:30 p.m. ceremony and reception.

Jimmy Jones caught a 9.75 pound channel catfish in a local Platte County lake. Jimmy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jones of Platte City.


The engagement of Miss Juanita Gayle Lawwill, Dearborn, Mo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Lawwill of Riverside, Fla., is announced to James Jack Benner, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Benner, Platte City. Gayle is a 1977 graduate of North Platte High School and is employed by Consolidated Transfer Company. Jack also is a 1977 graduate of North Platte High School and will attend Platt College in St. Joseph this fall. No wedding date has been set.
