Platte City Mayor Steve Wegner signed a proclamation for Crime Prevention Month in Platte City. Witnessing the signing were Tim Ryan, city administrator; and Ralph Landis, director of public safety. During the month of October, police will conduct an educational campaign.


Elizabeth Ann Taulbee and Mark Richard Hodgson were united in marriage on Aug. 10, 1991 by the Rev. Harold Van Cleave at the First Christian Church in Platte City. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Taulbee of Platte City. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hodgson of Torrington, Wyoming. A reception was held at the Leavenworth Community Center. Following the honeymoon at Branson, the couple is at home in Ingalls, Kan., where the groom is head football coach and teacher at Ingalls and the bride is an instructor at Arrowhead West in Dodge City, Kan.
