Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Willis announce the birth of their son Edward Russell, Friday, July 11, 1975 at Spelman Memorial Hospital, Smithville. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. Goodin, Platte City and the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Willis of Farley.


Street repairs are scheduled to be made on Main Street on Sunday, July 20th. The street will be closed until work is complete.

Three Platte Countians attended the 14th Annual Freedom Forum June 29-July 3 at the Missouri Academy in Mexico. This included Jan Carnie, Platte City; Karen Sampson, Platte City; and Nick Corninellis, Parkville.


The Boys Triple A Baseball Tournament starts July 20th at Platte City. Sunday, July 20 at 8:15p.m, Platte City vs Farley Triple A teams will play.


Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Maurice Hellebuyck, of Platte City, announce the engagement of their daughter Holli Renne to Mr. Gary Michael Sasso of St. Charles, Missouri. Wedding services are scheduled for August 16th at Park Hill Christian Church.


Rowley Lodge No. 204 A.F. & A.M. of Dearborn met in regular session Wednesday night, July 9, but there was a very special ceremony. Two members were honored for their 50 years of membership in the lodge. Herman Robbins of Platte City was inducted on May 24, 1924. Donald C. Dean celebrated his 50 year membership to the exact date. Robert Wagers, the present master, presented both gentlemen with a pin.
