The Wilson Creek Stabilization Project in Platte City got underway this week with the arrival of Hoy Excavating, the general contractor.
Platte City Mayor Frank Offutt stopped by to visit the construction site Wednesday morning to witness the rehabilitation of the drainage way being improved as part of the city’s efforts to maintain its storm water infrastructure. Public works subcommittee chairman, John Higgins, alderman in ward three, shared with the mayor, “This storm water project was made possible by the cooperation of adjacent land owners allowing the city to design and proceed with this long needed public improvement.” The scope of the project includes the clearing of brush and placing an erosion blanket covered with large dimension stones and is located at the intersection of Fourth Street and Clark Avenue.
