Sheriff says salary decision will negatively impact services

Crews will close all lanes of Interstate 29 at NW Old Tiffany Springs Rd. from 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11 for demolition of old Tiffany Springs Road Bridge that crosses the interstate at that location.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, including: I-435 from the Kansas side and I-29 and Route 152 on the Missouri side.

This work has the potential to impact KCI travelers. Motorists are encouraged to make the appropriate adjustments to meet departure and arrival times at KCI Airport. All work is weather dependent.

NW Old Tiffany Springs Road is located South of KCI and north of Zona Rosa and runs parallel to MO Route 152. The project spans from N Congress Avenue to NW Skyview Avenue. Improvements to Old Tiffany Springs Road will include four lanes with a median; curb and gutter; new sidewalk and trail; streetlights; enclosed storm sewer; minor lane improvements over I-29 in conjunction with MODOT; new bridge along I-29.

Old Tiffany Springs Road Bridge was closed starting Monday for bridge demolition and construction of the new bridge. This closure is anticipated to last a few months while contractors construct the new bridge and be reopened before Thanksgiving 2019. Message boards and detour signage will be posted to notify motorists to use alternate routes—N. Congress Avenue to the west of I-29 and N. Ambassador Dr. to the east of I-29.
