Reporting on the audit of the city at last week’s meeting of the Weatherby Lake Board of Aldermen was newly appointed auditor Rob Wilson with Accounting Solutions, who is the firm’s managing partner.

Total figures for the audit show assets of over $8 million dollars, and liabilities of just over $1.2 million, for the year ending Dec. 31, 2015.

“Your audit shows revenues up $60,000,” said Wilson. “Your expenses are up $248,000.”

Due to some bond refinancing, the expenses show the high figure.

“You paid off 2006 and 2010 bonds,” Wilson said. “Also there was a reissuance of the 2015 bond.” Wilson said that there were no budgetary or internal control problems with the audited areas or city administration.

“Your city is in good shape,” Wilson said. “I also enjoyed working with your treasurer, Marianne Ennett.”

Ennett in turn complimented Wilson, especially on the price of his company’s audit.

“The audit came back under budget,” said Ennett. “It was allotted for $10,000 and the final price was $8,500.”

The council, under the direction of Mayor Patrick Botbyl, approved the audit with a unanimous vote. City Clerk Gwen Cenac put the approved audit on the website for residents to access.

Accounting Solutions follows former auditor Bruce Culley CPA, of Gladstone.
