SHE’LL STUDY JOURNALISM AT MIZZOU
Adelaide Bonsignore is this year’s winner of The Landmark Award for English, an annual financial award given to a top English student at Platte County High School.
The Platte County Landmark Newspaper began the award in 1982 to foster an interest in the English language. Each year a graduating senior at Platte County High School is chosen for the award by faculty members at the high school.
This year’s award is in the amount of $750, with $250 coming from the newspaper and another $500 coming from two Landmark readers who wish to remain anonymous.
Adelaide, who goes by Addie, is the daughter of Cherie and Matthew Bonsignore of Platte City. Addie will be attending Mizzou to study journalism/strategic communications.
In her time at Platte County High School, Addie was involved in yearbook, newspaper, National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honors Society, Quill & Scroll Journalism Honors Society, theatre, concert band, jazz band, marching band, show choir pit band, and swim team. She was crowned homecoming queen last fall.
“My favorite subject was anything journalism-related with Mrs. Devan Foss. For a core class, my favorite was AP Literature with Mrs. Aimee Wilson,” Addie said.
