Interest is growing in Platte County and the metropolitan areas as a place to locate business and industry. That was the message brought to the Platte County Business and Professional Association Tuesday by Jim Monroe, president, and John Harter, vice president, of the Kansas City Area Economic Development Council. The two officials were speakers at a breakfast held by the BPA in the Kansas City TWA Administration Center building at KCI Airport. Monroe explained that the council’s main task is to attract new business and industry to the seven-county, bi-state metropolitan marketplace. It was through the council that DeLaval Co. was contacted and put in touch with Platte County representatives who gave information and assistance that resulted in their decision to locate in Platte County.
