One employee of Worldspan, an airline computer reservation center near KCI Airport in Platte County, has been diagnosed with tuberculosis and health officials are now testing other employees of the firm. Around 160 employees who were in close proximity to the infected worker have been given TB skin tests. About 20 of them have turned out positive, which is an indication that the person has been infected with TB. However, most people don’t develop symptoms of this disease and cannot spread it to others. Those who tested positive are being examined by doctors to see if any active TB, which is contagious.

Law enforcement surveillance of a suspected methamphetamine lab at a hotel near the Kansas City International Airport ended in a high speed chase of two suspects and their arrest, along with the arrest of three other alleged accomplices last Tuesday. After receiving information about possible drug activity taking place in two hotel rooms at a Northland hotel near the airport, the KCI Airport Narcotics Task Force set up surveillance of the rooms.
