SUSPECT LEFT BEFORE RECEIVING MONEY
At approximately 10:42 a.m. today (Friday, Jan. 5), there was an attempted bank robbery at the Bank of Weston in Platte City.
The FBI says an unknown subject entered the bank, made a demand for cash, threatened a weapon, but left before receiving any money. There were no injuries, says Dixon Land, public affairs specialist with the FBI in Kansas City.
The suspect is described as a male, 5’7″ and stocky build, with long hair. The suspect was described as wearing a black jacket and black pants. The suspect was also described as wearing a medical mask and black gloves, according to the FBI.
The suspect fled the bank in a black passenger car, heading west on Hwy. 92.
Bank of Weston in Platte City is located at 4001 Hwy. 92, just east of Interstate 29 and just south of Hwy. 92.
