EDITOR:

To anyone who knows me or met me, it’s pretty clear I’m a conservative Republican. I would just like to address the clear minded Democrats in your readership.

Words about Randy

On Oct. 11, Tulsi Gabbard made her very visible departure from the Democrat party.

She clearly and eloquently stated her reasons for doing so. These echo the concerns that many conservatives have voiced over the years.

The Democrat party loves to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr . But his “I Have a Dream” speech clearly states that we should judge a person “…by the content of their character not the color of their skin.”

John F. Kennedy, Jr., who some would argue was one of our greatest presidents, once led the Democrat party and the nation with the credo of “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.”

Neither of these philosophies appear anywhere in the modern Democrat platform.

Furthermore, Thomas Jefferson stated,

“When the people fear the government there is tyranny. When the government fears the people there is liberty.”
In today’s modern America, where does that fear reside?

And finally the founder of the modern Democrat party, Andrew Jackson is quoted as saying, “Take time to deliberate. But when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.”

Tulsi Gabbard, a now former Democrat who honorably served her nation in the military and in the House of Representatives, took time to deliberate. She saw that now was the time for action. Will you join her?
