On Saturday, May 21, 1977 at 5 p.m. in the afternoon, Sherry Lynn Hoskins, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Bill Hoskins, became the bride of Rex Willis Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wright at First Christian Church at Platte City. Rev. Lester M. Weeks officiated. The wedding supper was held immediately following the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents. After a honeymoon at the Lake of the Ozarks, the couple will reside in Platte City.


Mr. and Mrs. Harrol A. Hanks, Route 1, Platte City, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Sunday, June 19 from 2-6 p.m. at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Walker, 105 NW 70th Terrace, Gladstone, Mo.

J.W. (Froggie) Nash, 74, of Edgerton, died Thursday, June 2, 1977 at a hospital in St. Joseph. He was born in Buchanan County and had lived in Edgerton 40 years. He was a partner and director of the former Rollins-Nash Funeral Home in Edgerton from 1934 to 1961 and was owner of the Nash LP Gas Company. He served four terms as mayor of Edgerton. He was a former member of the Edgerton School Board and a member of the Edgerton Christian Church. He is survived by two sons, Karlton Nash, Dearborn, and Rollins Nash, Edgerton; a brother, Lowell Nash, St. Joseph; and four grandchildren. Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Hixson Chapel, Edgerton, with burial in the Grayson Cemetery.
