Mr. and Mrs. David R. Nuckols of Kansas City have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Julie Ann, to Rolando Jimenez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Jimenez of Guatamala City, Guatemala. The wedding is planned for June 8, 1991 with a reception following at the home of the bride’s parents.


Jimmie Dean, West Platte R-2 superintendent, has accepted the position of superintendent in the Maries County R-1 district at Vienna, Mo.

“The Fantasticks,” Platte County R-3 High School’s spring musical, is being presented this week. Performances started Wednesday and will continue each night at 7:30 through Saturday at the high school gym. Cast members include Shelley Severn, Anne Swaney, Vicky Kamphefner, Ross T. Johnson, James Davis, Chip Colvin, Nathan Coulter and Paul Roberts.


The 1991 baseball season came to an abrupt end for the Platte County Pirates on Monday in the district tournament in St. Joseph. Savannah ousted Platte County by beating the Pirates 6-4 in the tournament being played at Phil Welch Stadium.


Workmen were busy this week on the new steel-frame building being built by Martin Quality Construction on Marshall Road in Platte City for the Missouri Division of Family Services office. The division expects to move from its Second and Main St. location in July.
