EDITOR:

As a retired sheriff of Platte County who has lived here for more than 46 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside many public servants over the years. Few have impressed me more than County Clerk Jera Pruitt.

Get Homestead Act implemented

I have known Jera for more than a decade, and throughout that time I have seen firsthand her professionalism, integrity, and dedication to serving the people of Platte County. She approaches every challenge with a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to doing what is best for our citizens.

One accomplishment that stands out is her leadership in launching and implementing the Senior Property Tax Credit program. As a senior myself, I understand how meaningful this relief has been for many residents living on fixed incomes. Jera worked tirelessly to ensure the program was administered effectively and that eligible seniors received the benefit they were promised. Her efforts have made a real difference, not only for me, but for countless seniors across our county.

Public service is about more than holding an office—it’s about serving people with honesty, competency, and compassion. Jera embodies those qualities every day. She has demonstrated that she can manage complex programs, serve citizens effectively, and lead with integrity.

I am proud to offer my wholehearted support and endorsement of Jera Pruitt for county clerk. She has earned my trust, my respect, and my vote. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
