Mock elections are fun, three students of Suzanne Goodpasture at the Platte City Elementary Annex are discovering. Shown with some of the campaign literature and posters they have been studying are Mindy Patton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Patton, Platte City; Doug VanDyke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry VanDyke, Platte City; and Jesse Sharp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carol McCoy, Platte City. The entire school will vote next Thursday.

The Platte County R-3 High School fall production this year is The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder, scheduled for Nov. 13. The play, having a cast of nine males and seven females, all comes together in a humorous story about a rich merchant who decides he needs a wife and hires a matchmaker named Dolly Levi, played by Kim Westhoff, a senior at the high school. The matchmaker becomes involved with two of the merchant’s menial clerks, and waiters of an expensive restaurant where this mixed up farce runs into hilarious climax of confusion.
