Roundabout construction near the Ambassador Building will cause some traffic changes in that area.
The Ambassador Building is located at 12200 N Ambassador Dr, Kansas City in Platte County.
Permit work by the Ambassador Building Community Improvement District, for the construction of a roundabout and roadway intersection improvements, will require the following lane/ramp closures. All work is weather permitting.
Eastbound/westbound Cookingham Dr. left lane closures, Oct. 6-13:
•Westbound left lane closure from east of Ambassador Dr. to west of Prairie View Rd.
•Eastbound left lane closure from west of Prairie View Rd. to Ambassador Dr.
•Right hand turn lane closed at SB Prairie View Rd. Motorists will still be able to turn right onto WB Cookingham Dr.
The following lane and ramp closures will be in place from Oct. 14 until Mid-December
•Close ramp from northbound I-29 to eastbound I-435
•Motorists will not be able to turn left from SB I-29 to eastbound Cookingham Dr.
•Motorists will not be able to turn left from Prairie View Rd. to eastbound Cookingham Dr.
•Traffic will be placed in ahead-to-head traffic configuration. Both eastbound/westbound traffic will travel in the westbound lanes from west of Prairie View Rd. to Ambassador Dr.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
