At yet another meeting of the Parkville Board of Aldermen, the board finally approved the Downtown Community Improvement District (CID) slate of officers as submitted. It was approved unanimously by Jim Brooks, Scott McCruer, Gia McFarlane, Nan McManus and Deborah Butcher. Aldermen Marc Sportsman and Jeff Bay were absent. The slate approved by the city includes Adam Einer, Josh Brock, Tom Hutsler, John Kuhns, and Mark Bentley. It is the third version of CID board members submitted to the city in the last two months.

After an extremely brief public hearing in which no one came forward to dispute or comment, the Plate County R-3 Board of Education unanimously approved a 33-cent tax levy hike, increasing the rate by about eight percent for a new 2010-11 total of $4.52 per $100 of assessed valuation. The final rate change is actually two cents lower than district superintendent Mike Reik had originally forecasted.
