After 17.5 months on the job, Ann Daniels has resigned as city administrator of Platte City to take a similar post with the City of Riverside. Daniels made her intentions known in a letter to the mayor and board of aldermen last week and a public announcement was made at Tuesday night’s meeting of the board of aldermen. Her resignation is effective Sept. 16.
Although the architects are requesting another month to finalize the cost of the proposed Platte County R-3 bond issue projects, costs appear to have leveled out, said Don Siegrist, R-3 superintendent, during the monthly school board meeting held Thursday. An estimated amount of $6 million has been projected to fund proposed projects, but these figures are preliminary, stressed Siegrist. Actual figures will be presented at the next school board meeting in September.
On Saturday, volunteer Kurt Dutcher of Dutcher Construction of Camden Point donated his time and CASE uniloader to help the PTA spread gravel under the swingsets on the elementary playground. Dutcher has donated about eight hours of his time helping the PTA this year.
