EDITOR:
The executive board of the Platte County Republican Women (PCFRW) organization has sent the following letter to Gov. Mike Kehoe.
Dear Gov. Kehoe:
The Platte County Federated Republican Women are writing to request your attention to the matter of the unfair and egregious residential property tax fine of 15 percent being placed on Platte County citizens. This tax must not be implemented.
It is appalling that an unelected three person committee has that kind of destructive power over the citizens and the assessor and his office.
We request and demand that this order be overturned by you and call on you to convene a special session of the state legislature to reform state tax law. In addition, we call upon you to disband the State Tax Commission, eliminating its overreaching and egregious power.
