EDITOR:
This last Saturday evening my husband, Fred, and I attended the concert at the Platte County Courthouse in Downtown Platte City, sponsored by the Platte City Friends of the Arts Summer Concert Series.
What a wonderful experience! The music was provided by the Northland Big Band. . . they were amazing! The local Boy Scouts were giving out water and snacks. These were the nicest and most polite young gentlemen you would ever want to meet.
We sat on our lawn chairs under the shade of the big oak trees. We listened to the band, the laughter of children playing in the yard. The cicadas were beginning to sing and the lightning bugs were twinkling in the dusk. I sat there thinking how blessed we are to be living in Platte County.
