ANNUAL SUMMER SHINDIG IS ALMOST HERE
The 162nd annual Platte County Fair is just around the corner.
This year’s fair is set for Wednesday through Saturday, July 23-26 at the Platte County Fairgrounds in Tracy.
Traditional activities such as a rodeo, demolition derby, and truck and tractor pull will again be a part of the fair, as will a queen contest.
A carnival will operate each day of the fair, as well as food and beverage vendors, of course.
Admission is cash only at the gate, with a price of $15 Wednesday through Friday and a price of $20 on Saturday. Those age 12 and under are free. Parking is free.
Admission gains you entry into the fairgrounds but does not guarantee a seat. Once inside the fairgrounds, attendees can watch all grandstand events, contests, access the carnival and games, browse food trucks and vendors, enjoy live music and more.
Just a few of the highlights include:
Wednesday, July 23: Floral Hall exhibits open at 5 p.m.; senior citizens activities begin at 5 p.m. in the Platte Purchase Building; Carnival opens at 6 p.m.; Rodeo beginning at 7 p.m. at the grandstand; fair queen contest at the Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 24: Missy Master contest at the Platte Purchase Building at 6:30; demolition derby at 7 p.m. at the grandstand.
Friday, July 25: The second night of the demolition derby begins at 7 p.m. at the grandstand.
Saturday, July 26: Outlaw truck and tractor pull, 7:30 p.m. at the grandstand.

“First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest thanks to all of our sponsors, volunteers, elected officials, and the entire community for coming together to help host what I truly believe is the greatest event in Platte County. It is an absolute honor to serve as your 2025 president of the Platte County Fair Association,” writes Tony Paolillo, president of the fair board, at plattecountyfair.com.
“Over the years, I’ve come to realize that three things lie at the heart of our fair: Family, friends, and community. This fair is more than just an event—it’s a homecoming. A place where we lend a hand, cheer each other on, and reconnect with familiar faces.
“Our fair wouldn’t be what it is without the support and spirit of our community. The traditions of our fair live in all of us—and I believe they’ll only grow stronger for generations to come,” Paolillo adds in his president’s greeting.
“I invite you and your loved ones to join us July 23–26 for the 2025 Platte County Fair. We have so many exciting things planned, and I hope you’ll be part of the tradition that makes this event unforgettable,” he remarked.
