In the email, the district announces that it will place two proposals on the April 8 ballot. Both are tax levy increase proposals.

Voters will decide on two ballot proposals — Proposition G and Proposition O — that address needs as described below by school officials.

Proposition G
Dr. Mike Kimbrel, superintendent; Dr. Paul Kelly, assistant superintendent for business and technology; and Dr. Amy Dillon, assistant superintendent for human resources, presented a resolution at a school board meeting recently to call for an election on Proposition G.

The Park Hill Board of Education voted 6-0 to place this proposition on the April 8, 2025, ballot.

Proposition G would increase the district’s adjusted operating levy 10 cents per $100 of assessed valuation to ensure competitive salaries and benefits for teachers and staff.

If approved, the Park Hill School District would rank in the top five beginning salary strand for first-year teachers and the top three average salary strand for all teachers, making Park Hill one of the most competitive districts for salaries and benefits in the region.

Proposition O
In a separate presentation, Dr. Kimbrel and Dr. Kelly along with representatives of Hollis + Miller, outlined Proposition O, which asks to increase the debt service levy 30 cents per $100 of assessed valuation to issue general obligation bonds in the amount of $128 million to construct, renovate and improve district facilities.

The board of education voted 6-0 to place this proposition on the April 8, 2025, ballot.

If approved, this funding will support:

·Phase 1 replacement of Park Hill High School, including the relocation of the baseball field and stadium improvements
·Field and stadium improvements at Park Hill South High School
·Additions to Chinn, Line Creek, and Southeast elementary schools
·Renovated space to support high school programming
·District-wide facility security updates
·Land purchase for future facility needs
·Other capital improvements

Stay Informed
More details about both proposals will be shared in future First Hand e-newsletter sent out by the district and throughout the coming weeks and months.
