The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace the Route HH Bridge over I-29 at Platte City later this year. The work could start as early as April and will require complete bridge closure for about three months. MoDOT is sharing its plans for this construction project and seeking feedback from citizens. The public can attend an open house informational meeting on Jan. 14 from 4-6 p.m. at City Hall in Platte City.
MoDOT has awarded the construction bid for widening Hwy. 45 in Platte County at Parkville. The National Golf Club has donated highway right of way to aid the project. Citizen input and home and business owners along Hwy. 45 are also credited with moving the project along, reports Kathy Dusenbery, first district commissioner for Platte County. The work will make Hwy. 45 a four-lane roadway.
Piles of snow still remain from the recent storms. City crews in Platte City were busy hauling more of the white stuff from High Street near the Platte County Courthouse on Monday. Cold temperatures have not allowed several weeks of snow to melt.
Jason Klindt of Congressman Sam Graves’ office will be the featured speaker at a meeting of the Platte County Pachyderm Club at O’Dowd’s in Zona Rosa Jan. 20. He’ll talk about the political landscape of 2010.
