Six zoning changes were approved by the Platte County Commission Tuesday, including one which may result in as many as 213 homes being built at 136th Street and Running Horse Road near Platte City. CLT, Inc. requested a rezoning from PI and RMD to R10 of about 120 acres on the southwest corner of the intersection. The planning and zoning commission approved the request by a 6-3 vote but tabled approval of a preliminary plat, pending a traffic study to be completed by the developer.

No major decisions concerning development of the park ground the city recently purchased near the Platte City Caring Center were made at a meeting of the Platte City Park Board on Thursday, Mayor Pearl Brown reports. Plans are continuing for a Vo-Tech marketing group to survey Platte City residents on how they might like to see the land developed. Surveys are scheduled to be sent out in October.
