Bicyclist killed in crash at Riverside

A bicyclist was hit and killed while traveling on an outer road of Hwy. 9 near Riverside early Monday.

A Memorial Day tradition

The crash occurred at 5:30 a.m. on NW Tullison Road, south of Riverway Boulevard.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, killed was Xavier M. Anderson, age 25, of Kansas City. The rear of Anderson’s bicycle was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze being driven by a 25-year-old Kansas City woman, according to the report.

Anderson was taken to North Kansas City Hospital, where he died a few hours after the crash.

Riverside police assisted the highway patrol at the scene.
