The engineering firm of Bucher, Willis and Ratliff has been hired by the City of Platte City to perform an engineering study of water and sanitary sewer services to two areas proposed for annexation. Cost will be $11,500. The action came at Tuesday night’s meeting of the board of aldermen. Areas to be studied includes land south of town west to the Platte River, south to 128th Street and east to I-435; and also includes land from HH Hwy. east to Bethel Road, south to I-29 or the city limits of Kansas City. Estimated completion date is 60 days.

Young Landmark will be a periodic feature designed to help children understand newspapers and the news, and to encourage the habit of reading. Parents are encouraged to show their youngsters this section and discuss it with them. If your child is too young to read, read it to them and discuss the featured items.
