EDITOR:

Thank you to Guy Speckman for the great article (Ponder the Thought column, June 26) on Steven Tinnen and his Plattsburg License Office. Steve Tinnen has been a business role model for me with my license office in Brookfield. We’ve been team members for the DOR/DMV annual meeting and have commiserated while lobbying for license office fee increase legislation. He is a fine person and it is a special gift when someone cares enough to write such a glowing article about one of our crazy businesses.

FIFA is coming, accusations of racism

The Missouri Senate session fiasco for the last two sessions has caused our bills to be filibustered to death and I have resigned my contract and will close my license office due to the loss of funding. I am really disturbed that our senators did not do what they were elected to do. The hubris exhibited by men running for elections of state offices is ridiculous and will bode ill for the great State of Missouri if they get past the primary to the November ballot.

Thank for continuing to pay attention and writing about sticky situations
