Buyouts, cage matches and election integrity

If you are a Platte City resident and upset over buying out a city administrator contract, don’t fret, it could be much worse. The Wentzville School District near St. Louis just bought out a school superintendent for over a million bucks. She gets the cash within a three-month period of leaving the district and she spent less than two years as superintendent.

This is why many of us have no faith in the educational system getting better. That type of buyout is ludicrous and insulting to the people of this state who pay taxes.

Budgets, roid rage and untimely death

Maybe Raytown could pass a vote for the Royals. That would be closer than the Crossroads, save a little on moving expenses and such.

State politics got a little interesting this weekend. Senator Denny Hoskins of Warrensburg claimed that Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft pointed his finger in Hoskins’ wife’s face and “barked” at her.

Hoskins got in Ashcroft’s face over the alleged slight during a campaign event Friday night.

I’m immature and like to handicap potential Friday night fights between politicians. Especially members of the same political party.

I think Hoskins has the advantage in this thing. He appears to be a pretty small guy but looks in shape. Ashcroft is old school Republican, a 2016ish Trump type look. Hoskins has lost some weight during his political career and looks like he’s taking care of himself, and I think if this thing lasts more than a punch or too, it would be lights out for Ashcroft, call John or an ambulance.

Hoskins is a CPA and I’ve never known them to be exceptionally feisty cage fighters, but Ashcroft is an engineer and lawyer by trade and quite honestly, you can’t trust any of these professions in a fight situation, probably have some tricks up their suit coats. Overall, though, I am going with Hoskins to win this one, should it ever happen.

Ashcroft, however, gets the nod if this thing ends up in court.

I have never pointed my finger at a woman’s face. Ever. I can’t beat up most men, why would I jump into the female division? I’ve also never fought an engineer/lawyer for that matter, but I’m probably willing should the need arise.

In other news, Hoskins is running for secretary of state, a job Ashcroft already holds as he attempts to become governor. If they both get elected to the jobs they covet, they could throw on singlets and settle this thing at the Inauguration Ball.

Hoskins did lay out some impressive cuss words. Called Ashcroft a “chicken*&” and “f&% coward.” Ashcroft is a man of God and wasn’t taking that bait. Good thing the senator wasn’t throwing down those lines to a public works director, or it would have been on like Donkey Kong.
