A request by the Platte County Board of Elections to construct two office walls and one door has been approved by the Platte County Commission. The walls will separate the board of elections offices from the county clerk’s offices. An estimate of $2,315 for the walls and door was given by John Green.


The Platte County Recorder of Deeds 1993 report shows total receipts for 1993 were $367,792. In 1983 the total was $74,974.


Sprint United Telephone’s new Metropolitan Calling Area (MCA) plan, which provides unlimited toll-free calling around the metropolitan calling areas of Kansas City, begins in Platte City on Feb. 5. It will replace the Community Optional Service plan to which many Platte City residents currently subscribe. Al Carroll, community relations manager for Sprint/United Telephone, says he is concerned about the low number of COS subscribers who have signed up for MCA.

The two women are Shelly Lindahl, fifth grade teacher at Platte City Middle School, and Carolyn Barry, a third grade teacher.
