U.S. Armed Forces Germany–Bruce T. Roberts, whose wife, Sheena, lives on Route 1, Weston, Mo. recently was promoted to Army specialist four while serving as a clerk with the 13th Armor in Germany. Roberts entered the Army in October 1976.


Construction started this week on a new building for the Bank of Weston at 800 Hwy. 45 in Weston. Designed and built by Century II Bank Facilities of Kansas City, the building will stress the conveniences of modern day banking with drive-up tellers, increased parking and ample office space. The anticipated completion date is next May with a grand opening planned sometime early in the summer.

Mr. and Mrs. James B. Caldwell announce the birth of their son, Brian Joseph at St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth on October 6, 1978. The first child for the couple weighed 7 pounds, 8.5 ounces.


The Platte County 4-H Council elected the following officers to serve for the 1979 4-H year. Joe Peshek, Platte City Shamrock Shaker, president; Mary Suiter, Todd’s Creek Pipers, vice president; Frances Hornbuckle, Chinn Happy Workers, secretary; and Jacy Anderson, treasurer.
