Mr. and Mrs. Marion R. Williams of Platte City announce the engagement of their daughter, Beverly Ann to Lawrence Eugene Cass, Jr., son of Mrs. Norma Mitchell and Mr. Lawrence Eugene Cass, Sr., of Kansas City. Beverly is a 1978 graduate of the Platte County R-3 High School and is now employed at TG&Y at Parkville. Larry was a student from Wyandotte High School and is employed at Machine Supply Auto Parts in North Kansas City. The wedding date is set for Dec. 2, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Platte City.


Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Mac Fleshman of Weston, announce the birth of twins, a girl, Phyllis Renee, and a boy, Phillip Ray, on Saturday, Oct. 7, 1978 at the Spelman Memorial Hospital. They have a twin brother and sister, Sherry and Barry, another brother and sister, Scott and Michelle, to welcome them home.

Cadet Cpt. Jeffrey L. Pierson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Pierson from Platte City, has recently earned a promotion here at Wentworth Military Academy and Junior College, said Lt. Col. Robert M. Coombs, Wentworth ROTC professor of military science.


The annual carnival at East Platte Elementary School will be on Saturday, Oct. 14 from noon to 5 p.m. It is sponsored by the East Platte PTA.
