Airman Joseph C. Conard, stepson of Mrs. Ruby M. Conard of Weston, has been assigned to Keesler AFB, Miss. after completing Air Force basic training. During the six weeks at Lackland AFB in Texas, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special instruction in human relations. Completion of this training earned the individual credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Airman Conard will now receive specialized training in the air operations field. The airman is a 1977 graduate of Atchison, Kan. High School.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kneuven celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 21 at their home with a family dinner followed with a reception hosted by their children, Larry Kneuven, Donald Kneuven, Mrs. Marsha Dale, Mrs. Sandra Cliff and their families. A dinner was served at noon to 45 persons.
As The Landmark goes to press, we have learned the Boone County Circuit Court jury of eight women and five men returned the verdict in the Mark Sager trial. The verdict is guilty of manslaughter in the death of Julie Wittmeyer of Platte County. This climaxed 12 hours of deliberation and eight days of testimony.
