Chaves Development at Ambassador Building

A rendering of what's planned with the Chaves Development near KCI

AT THE INTERSECTION OF I-29 AND I-435

The Chaves Development at KCI officially broke on Monday, May 22.

The 87-acre parcel sits next to the Ambassador Building, the 300,000 square foot Class A office building located at the gateway to KCI, at the intersection of Interstate 435 and Interstate 29.

The groundbreaking kicks off the development immediately adjacent to the Ambassador Building, including site work on a new roundabout, which will aid in site accessibility and visibility.

The Chaves family, led by asset-manager Richard Chaves, Jr., has been working for over three years to acquire the properties and gain support for the public infrastructure improvements.

The mixed-use development will also welcome Peachy Parking, the Chaves family-run airport park-and-ride business. Additionally, 10 pad sites on the parcel will be future locations for restaurants, a gas station, and service-oriented tenants.

Speakers for the event included Kansas City public officials, representatives from the Chaves family, as well as tenant representatives.

Michael Meier, of Kansas City-based Aristocrat Realty, is serving as broker for the development.
