APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED BY GOV. PARSON
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson appointed Amy R. Ashelford as associate circuit judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit in Platte County. She will fill the vacancy created by the recent retirement of Judge Dennis Eckold.
Ashelford, of Platte City, has served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Platte County for many years.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and received a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Parson announced the appointment on Friday.
Other nominees for the post were Susan M. Casey, career law clerk/chief of staff for the Judge Roseann Ketchmark of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, in Kansas City; and Jesse Sendejas – assistant city attorney and prosecutor for Kansas City.
