The Kansas City Missouri Police Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to a 9-1-1 call on Sunday, April 23 at the Phillips 66 Gas Station located at 5910 NW Prairie View Road, just north of Houston Lake in southern Platte County. Upon their arrival just after 2:15 p.m., officers approached a van, where they observed an adult male who was not breathing. Medical authorities pronounced the man dead and police remained at the scene for several hours investigating the death. Sgt. Jake Becchina of the KCPD says according to preliminary investigation there are no signs of foul play. The man was later identified as Justin Wilson, age 36. The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death, a process that generally takes a few weeks.
