Mrs. Benny Poage and Mrs. Evelyn Wright opened the new Stylette Beauty Shop in the Platte Hotel last weekend in the room that had been known as the Hotel Lobby. A new entrance to the hotel on the north side has been made, also.


Cecil Barton of Northwest Missouri State College is taking his observation practice teaching in American history and physical education classes in Platte County High School.

Mr. Don’s Beauty Shop is being redecorated this week. A new front was put in the building last week. This is one of the oldest buildings on Main Street and the remodeling helped the looks of the building a great deal. It has been painted a soft shade of green.


Mr. and Mrs. Charles A . Bryant of Route 22, Kansas City, Mo., whose 50th wedding anniversary is April 28, 1978, will celebrate the occasion with an open house on April 29 at the Weatherby Lake Community Center, NW Barry Road and Potomac, from 1-4 p.m. The hosts are Jack and Dorothy Tucker and family. All friends and relatives are cordially invited. No gifts, please.


Mr. and Mrs. John W. Jones, Platte City, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Barbara, to Gary E. Smith, son of Joyce Smith, Rushville, and John A. Smith, Atchison.
