LOCATIONS IN PLATTE CITY, PARKVILLE TO CLOSE

The Platte County Health Department is planning for an upcoming move and temporary changes in its operating schedule.

The health department will be closed to the public April 24 – 28, as moving occurs.

As a result of the move, all services, including vital records and acceptance of samples for the State Public Health Lab, will not be available.

For those needing a death or birth certificate, health departments in the surrounding area can assist.

For lab samples, drop-off can be done at St. Luke’s North Hospital – Barry Road.

The Platte County Health Department will reopen Monday, May 1 at 7925 NW 110th St., Kansas City, Mo.

Once this move occurs, the Parkville and Platte City offices of the health department will be closed and no services will be available at either location.

Health department officials say the new location is centrally located and on a bus route.

“The new location means staff will now be under one roof, which will result in better collaboration among the various divisions, thus ensuring that Platte County will obtain the best service the health department has to offer,” said Aaron Smullen, public information officer for the health department, in a press release.
