Inclement weather was causing major delays on Interstate 29 through Platte City on Wednesday morning. Several inches of snow fell across the area, causing wrecks and delays because of the snowy and icy roadways. At times, traffic on Interstate 29 came to a standstill, with some drivers getting out of their vehicles to look around.

A rollover crash occurred along P Hwy. east of Weston on Monday. A Mustang driven by Michael Hull, 19, of Weston was headed south on P Hwy. when, according to the driver, he swerved to miss a motorcycle and went to the left side of the road. He then overcorrected and went off the right side of the roadway, overturning the vehicle. Authorities said it appeared Hull was not wearing his seat belt, but he was able to walk away from the crash and was later taken to the hospital by ambulance.
