UPS Supply Chain is Hunt Midwest tenant

UPS

A LEADER IN LOGISTICS

Hunt Midwest says it is welcoming UPS Supply Chain Solutions as its newest tenant at the Hunt Midwest Business Center (HMBC).
UPS is leasing 210,600 square feet at HMBC Logistics IV on NE 48th Street, just east of Interstate 435 in Clay County.

An additional 268,000+ square feet remain available for lease.

HMBC Logistics IV is a 478,295-square-foot, cross-dock industrial facility with 36-foot minimum clear height, 68 trailer parking spots, and 245 total parking stalls that can be expanded to 297. The remaining 268,000+ square feet of space available for lease in the building includes 26 dock locations, expandable to 55 dock locations, with 45,000-pound levelers, and two drive-in doors with a standard bay size of just over 27,000 square feet.

The new space will gives UPS a foothold in the heart of Kansas City’s established industrial corridor with unparalleled access to the major interstates, rail, first-stop/last-stop transportation hubs, an already robust local labor force, and established bus routes to HMBC.

“We’re excited to land UPS Supply Chain Solutions because it validates the labor, logistics, and location story of Hunt Midwest Business Center,” said Mike Bell, Hunt Midwest senior vice president of commercial real estate. “UPS is a key industry leader in the logistics world in terms of e-commerce, last-mile fulfillment, and is a strategic customer we targeted for HMBC. This location is right at the doorstep of 100-plus tenants, with more than 4,000 employees, that can essentially accept and fulfill online orders at the last possible moment, maximizing their distribution fulfillment operations every single day.”

Construction on the next spec building, HMBC Logistics V, is slated to begin in 2023, with occupancy planned for the fourth quarter of 2023. This single-load, 203,899-square-foot building will be located directly east of HMBC Logistics IV on N Arlington Avenue.
An extension of NE 48th Street to N Arlington Avenue also is underway and will provide another direct access point from HMBC to Interstate 435.
