Noble Aring was a Landmark visitor this week and tells us he has received 50-year pins this year from the Farley Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite in Kansas City and the Ararat Shrine in Kansas City.

The largest budget ever presented in Platte County is the 1978 budget in the amount of $4,833,953.78. It was presented to the county court Thursday by Judge Henry Miller, county budget officer. The large budget is due to the $2 million courthouse and jail construction from bonds, $260,000 building fund from general revenue and $250,000 reassessment and tax maps.
