30 Years Ago–November 13, 1992

Through a cooperative effort from State Sen. Pat Danner, Missouri Highway and Transportation Department officials, and the Camden Point Athletic Association, the ballfield at Hwy. E and Interurban Road is getting some guard rail to protect the bleachers. Pictured in front of a guard rail were Sen. Pat Danner, Don Pine of the Camden Pont Athletic Association; Norman Beeman and Henry Jameson, both of the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department.


Dr. Walter P. and Paula J. Walawender of Manhattan, Kan. have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lisa J. Walawender, to Chad J. Martin, son of James J. and Diane C. Martin of Kansas City, Mo. Chad is a 1987 graduate of Platte County R-3 High School. Both have human biology degrees from the University of Kansas and both are presently pursuing graduate studies at KU. A Jan. 2, 1993, wedding is planned in Manhattan, Kan.


On Saturday, Nov. 21, Girl Scout Service Unit 601 is having a Father-Daughter Sock Hop for all registered Girl Scouts and their father or other male relative. The event is being held at the Platte County High School gymnasium from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dressing in the 50s style is optional.
