Northern Lights Holiday Ceremony set Nov. 19

Outdoor showing of classic movie 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' will be part of the Nov. 19 lighting ceremony at Zona Rosa.

The Zona Rosa shopping district at Interstate 29 and Barry Road will kick off its 2022 holiday season with its annual lighting ceremony featuring the historic holiday crowns and a majestic 55 ft. tall Christmas tree.

Northern Lights Holiday Lighting Ceremony is planned at Zona Rosa on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 4-6 p.m.

Activities will include live music, food trucks, ice skating at The Rink, an outdoor movie and Santa Claus hitting the switch on the lights at 6 p.m.

Activities will be centered in the North Park, which is the area south of Dillard’s.

Priscilla and Dana’s School of Dance will present a Nutcracker Suite performance at 4 pm. Local bands will play holiday tunes on the main stage, with Karli Ritter of Fox 4 serving as emcee.

There will be offering of coffee from Brew HaHa Coffee House, desserts and hot cocoa bar from Muffin Top Dessert trailer. Attendees can snap an ‘elfie’ photo with Instagram-worthy backdrops.

Santa will make his arrival at 6 p.m. to turn on the holiday lights.

HOLIDAY MOVIE
Immediately after the lighting ceremony wraps up, at the North Park there will be an outdoor showing of the holiday classic movie Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a live-action film which stars Jim Carrey, from 6-8 p.m.

Plan to join characters like the Grinch and Cindy Lou-Who for the showing of the movie. There will also be photo opportunities with the Grinch and Cindy Lou-Who.
