Last Friday the Platte County Pirates were hosts to the Weston Blue Jays. It was homecoming for the Pirates and surely the old grads were proud of Platte County’s football team as they rolled over the Blue Jays by a score of 28-0.
Mrs. Thomas H. Perry, Jr., worthy matron of Daisy Chapter, and Miss Lorene Cox, district deputy grand matron of the 21st district, left Sunday for St. Louis where they attended the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in session there the first of the week.
Violet Hughes and Joseph H. Lake were united in marriage 50 years ago, Oct. 26, 1927 in Liberty, and have lived 49 years in Platte County. Mr. Lake has retired from the Armor Packing Company, and Mrs. Lake retired from National Bellas Hess.
Miss Patricia Jean Crostarosa and Terry Van Glenn were united in marriage on Sept. 16, 1977 at the St. Agnes Church in Fairway, Kan. The Rev. Fr. William Haeglin performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Crostarosa is the daughter of Robert C. Crostarosa and Mr. Glenn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Truman V. Glenn of Platte City. A reception was held at the Foxridge Racquet Club immediately following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Alice Simons and Ginny Finley. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn are at home in Overland Park.
