30 Years Ago–October 23, 1992

People for Kids is once again planning an Octoberfest for the sixth, seventh and eighth grade Barry and Platte City Middle School students. This event will be held on Oct. 30 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Platte County High School. Chairmen include Lori Hall, Sue Simon, food; Eska Felker and Joan Shockey, games; Peggy Richey, decorations; Pam Summers and Gretchen Laures, prizes; and Ceil Eckerberg and Susan Duncan, publicity. The admission price of $2 assures games, prizes, food, music, dancing and a “great deal of fun.” Any additional parental help would be appreciated.


Candidates for homecoming king and queen at North Platte R-1 High School in Dearborn have been selected. Queen candidates are Stacy McNell, Jolene Salcedo, Kerry Edlin, Becky Carter, Vallorie Johnson. King candidates are Derek Montgomery, Bob Matthys, Jeff Sellars, Shawn Murphy and Tom Kampmeyer.


Candidates for homecoming queen and king have been chosen at Platte County High School in Platte City. The queen candidates include Jennifer LeVan, Shila Rice, Amy Johnson, Nikki Atchison, Marianne Swaney, Heather Potts, Moya Teo, Stacy Evertson. The king candidates are Mat Thomason, Mike Bigus, Shane Cox, Chris Arnold, Jason Ward, Troy Moore, Shain Farr and Danny Filger.
