The Platte County Pirates lost their second game of the season last Friday night to Oak Grove, a tough 3A school, by a score of 7-0. The Platte County defense did a good job all night and held them to only one score. The Pirates go to face Plattsburg this week.


The Platte County Historical Society will have a “Before” Tour of the Ben Ferrel Platte County Mini Museum that is before restoring and repairing. The tour is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 18 at Third and Oak Streets, Platte City. The public is invited to attend.

On Saturday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m., Rose M. Edwards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A Edwards, became the bride of Randy Redenbaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Redenbaugh, Kansas City, at Tower View Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo. The Rev. Carl Kerr performed the ceremony.
A reception followed the ceremony in the fellowship hall of the church. The couple will be at home at 6049 North Brighton No. 3, Kansas City, Mo.


Wesley Adams Rudder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rudder, Platte City, celebrated his first birthday on Sunday, Sept. 18. Adam has a three-year-old brother, Jerry James, who helped him open his gifts. Relatives were invited to help eat ice cream and birthday cake.
